Lauren Maas
Assistant Manager
Lauren is a Sacramento, CA native who grew up in a house filled with dogs and cats, and fell in love with horses when she was 10 years old. Lauren spends her weekends volunteering for various non-profits, as well as pet sitting around the town of Davis. She also teaches beginning horseback riding lessons at a barn in Woodland. She currently only owns two animals - a black kitty named Bagheera or "Baggy", and a thoroughbred horse named Gallon. She graduated from UC Davis in December 2018 with a B.S. degree in Animal Science, and hopes to continue on to veterinary school. She enjoys getting to spend time with animals of all shapes and sizes!
Cydney Louis
Cydney has been working with animals her entire life, starting as a young girl working with cattle on an Angus ranch here in Davis. When she was in grade school she participated in 4H for nine years raising pigs for the local show. She also participated in FFA while in high school for 6 years, she raised Turkeys, Goats and Veal Calf’s which she showed at the Yolo County Fair.
She has always had a passion for animals and has kept herself surrounded by them throughout her entire life. Cydney currently owns a Paint/Arabian horse named Sierra that she takes on trail rides, to various shows and competes in Gymkhana with. She also owns a small yorkie named Lulu that she loves dearly and takes along with her on many adventures. Aside from working with animals, Cydney works at UC Davis as the advising assistant in the undergraduate counseling office while going to school online at Arizona State University pursuing a degree in psychology. She would like to become a counselor when she is complete with her education to be able to help people, another one of her passions. She loves to care for animals of all kinds and enjoys having the opportunity to get to meet different pets as they all have their own unique personalities.
Faith Hornbuckle
Faith was born and raised in Woodland, Ca. She has worked with all sorts of domestic animals her whole life and has raised a variety livestock in 4-H and FFA for several years. She found a connection with horses at a young age and has since let her passion for them be her motivation to a future career in Equine. As for now, she is graduating from Feather River Community College with an Associates Degree in Agriculture and a certificate in Horse Training in May of 2019. She hopes to further her knowledge with a hands on job involved with horses or apply to a vet school.
At home, Faith has 2 cats; names Lola and Nala, 1 turquoise Green Cheek Conure named Ariel, and a Yellow Labrador named Hank. They all always keep her both entertained and on her toes.
Getting to see and experience all different types of pets is a great joy in Faith's life and she hopes it continues for a long time to come.
Gina Skyberg
Gina was born in Woodland and raised in Davis, Ca. She has worked with all sorts of domestic animals her whole life and has raised a pigs, steers, veal calf, goats and turkeys in 4-H and FFA for several years. Gina’s family had a Black Angus Ranch growing up. Gina also had a pet turtle for over 25 years. She currently has two dogs, Daisy and Lulu. Gina enjoys pet sitting for clients, it is relaxing for her, and she makes an effort to treat each animal like she would her own - with lots of love.
Samantha Steward
Sammi was born and raised in the Bay Area, and has always been an avid animal lover. Growing up, she had many pets: dogs, cats, hermit crabs, frogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, mice- you name it! Currently, she has three cats (Luna, Misty, and Buttercup) as well a dog, Junie (pictured with me). Over the years, Sammi volunteered and worked in the pet food/supply industry, at a zoo, wildlife rehabilitation center, animal shelter, and a vet hospital. Currently, Sammi is a transfer student at UC Davis, working towards veterinary school in the future. Her dream is to specialize in animal nutrition and have her own practice that offers services catering to low-income pet owners.
Sarah Mowers
Sarah was born and raised in Petaluma, CA. She recently moved to Davis, CA and attends Sacramento City College. Sarah has been passionate about animals from an early age and plans on continuing that into a career as a Veterinary Technician. You can find Sarah with her German Shepard, Benson or volunteering at a Therapeutic Equestrian Program with her favorite horses. Sarah loves animals of all shapes and sizes and looks forward to any time she gets to hangout with them.
Danielle Tam
Danielle was born and raised in Hong Kong. She has been around all sorts of animals and worked them with them her whole life. She realized her passion for horses when she rode for the first time at the age of 6. As of right now, Danielle is an active intern/volunteer with the Yolo County SPCA and helps care for the dogs and cats, and even giving medications and vaccinations to the foster animals. She also volunteers as a foster for the SPCA all year-round. As a pre-vet student, her wide experience with a variety of animals helps equip her to care for all animals from all different backgrounds.
